Attached to the entrance is a little room with a door and frosted glass window. At first glance i thought it was a little storage room. To my surprise, it is an outhouse. Just a tiny room with a real, working toilet. I need to inquire about this oddity. I'm sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation.
No Closets--
No cabinetry in the bathrooms. Thank goodness I purchased storage containers.
The dishwasher is in the utility room.
I have to remember to turn the hot water heater on every morning. It's attached to the floor heating system (Ondol). I hear everyone loves the floor heating.
The trash system. Very complicated. There are no garbage dispose-alls here and no large trash cans to store outside. Everything is recycled including the food waste. Evidently this is composted and then used for fertilizer. Very smart.
Remembering that we need to use bottled water for everything. Katie Ann had to pour out her pomegranite juice because she filled the pitcher with the tap.
Outdoor stairs: Thats right, we have a two story home and the stairs to access it are outdoors. Right now Morgan and Aaron love it. They feel like they have their own apt. It would be easier if Lauren were older but i really worry about her getting hurt. The stairs are marble and there is a balcony that wraps around the house. This will be very difficult during the cold winter.
