Learning French

Today I went to my first French lesson. I was a little hesitant about taking this on but I had a wonderful time and can't wait to go again. We have a small group and one of the french ladies (Magali) is teaching us. I am the only one in the group that doesn't speak at least two languages. We are beginning with the alphabet. Sounds simple but I have a hard time with the R and Y. Must practice.

Dear Becky & Bob Eller,

My name is Lucia Falcon. I am a second year MBA student at George Washington University. I am taking a Global Human Resources class.

Currently, I am working on a project regarding the Human Resources implications of sending employees to work in Asia. In my case, my country assigned is South Korea. For this project, it is extremely important to get first hand input from expatriates. Thus, I would really appreciate it if you allow me the opportunity to send you an e-mail with a couple of questions about your personal experience living in Korea and your husband’s working environment.

The purpose of this is to find out what are the challenges that expatriates and their family face the most in South Korea and what HR professionals can do to guarantee a successful international assignment.

Thank you for your time

Lucia Falcon
