Namhae Island

Bob's work group organized a camping trip to Namhae Island. It was our first time meeting his counterparts. We stayed in a "Pension". Konglish for an apartment like complex. We had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchenette/family room. Mats and pillows were provided and we slept on the floor, Korean style. The pension had a big terrace where we grilled and ate together. We all had a great time and I really enjoyed meeting the people Bob works with everyday.

Namhae is famous for garlic. Like rice, garlic was planted everywhere. Here is a bed that was planted right below our pension. They even have a Garlic Museum but we didn't find the time to visit!!

Hang Vo waving hello. She is so nice and a very interesting lady to know.

They've started flooding the rice paddies before planting.

We ate a traditional Korean breakfast at the building with the blue roof.

Interesting, X-rated sculpture. You've heard it's good luck to rub the Buddha. Well, local legend says if you rub this you'll be blessed with a son. It represents the male genitals and a reclining pregnant women.
